Associate attorney Thomas Connelly has been appointed to the Board of Directors for Tri-Com Central Dispatch as part of his role as an alderman on Batavia’s City Council. In this post, he will help lead the association’s mission to provide “the right resources to the right location and to protect the lives, property and safety” of the community and first responders.
“I am honored to represent Batavia on the Tri-Com Board and will endeavor to help promote the good work of our area’s first responders and 911 dispatchers and help make sure they are provided with all the resources they need to succeed and make our community as safe as possible,” said Mr. Connelly.
Established in 1976, Tri-Com Central Dispatch (TRI-COM) unites the Tri-cities in a cooperative arrangement to provide dispatch services for police, fire, EMS, and other emergency functions for the Fox River Valley area. These communities include Batavia, Geneva, and St. Charles. Tri-Com delivers 911 dispatching to seven police agencies and six fire stations, handling over 130,000 inbound/outbound calls a year and dispatches an average of 98,000 calls annually. Thus, making Tri-Com one of the busiest centralized 911 public safety answering points in the County.
Mr. Connelly joins the Board comprised of elected officials and appointed fire chiefs and police chiefs from throughout the Tri-City area and surrounding communities.
