Meyers & Flowers wins $315,000 verdict for injured pedestrain in uninsured motorist case
The firm’s client, Jimmy, was standing on a Chicago street corner when he was struck by a car that did not have liability insurance. The trauma caused injuries to his right thigh and left calf. Fortunately, Jimmy had uninsured motorist coverage through his own car insurance policy.
“This case illustrates exactly why we encourage everybody to purchase high levels of Uninsured and Underinsured Motorist Coverage” said attorney Craig Brown. “So many people are seriously injured by drivers who are not insured or who only have the state minimum level of insurance which is $20,000. In this case, Jimmy had an appropriate amount of coverage and the award entered by the arbitrators after our trial tripled the final offer made by his insurance company so we are pleased for Jimmy.”
